What Is The Ionithermie Detox?

In 1979 Oliver Fouche developed the Ionithermie detox. It is only during recent years that the detox has become known in the United States and the United Kingdom. Those who rave about the Ionithermie detox treatment say that it improves skin tone, improves muscle tone, increases firmness, reduces inches quickly, improves circulation to specific areas, removes toxins, re-mineralizes, balances hormones, improves lymphatic drainage and relaxes both the body and the mind. On top of everything, a treatment only takes an hour.

The Procedure-What exactly is involved?

The ‘treater’ and ‘treatee’ first agree on the area to receive treatment. A mixture of purifying algae, ivy and amino acids is applied to the area. These are the ingredients that increase circulation, break down cellulite, and release toxins trapped in the fatty deposits. A layer of fabric is wrapped around the Ionithermie detox ingredients and clay is applied over it. The clay is infused with algae and it is meant to conduct electricity. Several electrodes are placed along the area to be treated.

Astonishingly, most patients lose a measurable amount of several inches in the treated area after the first treatment. Following a sensible diet and exercise plan will help extend the benefits of Ionithermie detox, but the results are not intended to last for a long time. The loss of one to eight inches is temporary, although the benefits of detox and muscle tone are said to be more permanent. The Ionithermie detox treatment is a good way to kick start a diet and exercise regimen as well as being a beneficial way to improve hard-to-reach areas.

Ionithermie detox depends on a mix of galvanic and faradic electrical stimulation to work its magic. The galvanic stimulation uses positive and negative ions to extract toxins from deep within the body. The faradic stimulation is intended to work as an exercise to promote muscle and skin tone. The trained therapist oversees the mild electrical applications to balance results with comfort. After the treatment is completed, the clay is removed and a soothing lotion is applied.

Spas across the country have added the equipment and trained personnel to make the Ionithermie detox available to their clients. While medical science may never be fully convinced of all the claims of Ionithermie detox, those who have benefited from it will swear by it. You do not have anything to lose by trying it and have everything to gain.

Do A Detox To Kick Start Your Weight Loss

April 3rd, 2007    Subscribe To Our Feed

To Kick start your diet a detox program is a great way to start. During the first seven to ten days you will lose a lot of weight but some will be water retention. For those who follow the latest in diets and weight loss regimens, the detox diet has been garnering much attention. It can range from very strict to somewhat loose in the foods that can and can’t be included. The stated objective of a weight loss and detox diet is flush toxins from the fat cells of the body. Naturally, any type of diet that emphasizes flushing stresses lots of fiber and water.

The Diet

This type of diet is not good for the long haul as important nutrients are lost. However, for a week or so, a detox diet can benefit the body by eliminating the bad food habits we pick up and adding hydration. The really good thing is that weight loss and detox dieting go hand in hand.

Different dieticians and holistic practitioners offer a variety of diets that detox the body. In general, they have some things in common. First and foremost is the water; at least eight glasses of water every day will help flush out those toxins. The reason that weight loss and detox dieting go together is that by drinking a lot of water, the stomach feels full and meals are smaller. The water regimen, by the way is one part of this diet that can be good for you on a long term basis.

The next part is to cut out foods that are full of additives or that contain possibly harmful ingredients. Among harmful ingredients are concentrated sugars and caffeine (artificial sweeteners also fall in this group). Many people find that food allergies are not just developed in childhood; some allergies can develop later in life and cause water retention, fatigue and a feeling of being “off.” For this reason, a week without the foods that most often cause allergies is a good thing. They include dairy products, wheat, gluten, and peanuts.

Most forms of the detox diet limit protein to rice with beans and fish. While weight loss and detox benefits will naturally follow such a restricted diet, prolonged use of it will result in insufficient calcium. Fresh fruits and vegetables are usually unlimited, which is a good idea on any diet. Side effects can include headaches and this is usually due to the sudden elimination of caffeine.

The sudden change in diet can result in diarrhea and if this occurs see a doctor or go off the diet. A detox diet can help you begin a long term regimen of healthy eating. In that case, weight loss and detox dieting can be very beneficial.

Anyone who uses a lot of caffeinated foods on a regular basis should consider trying decaffeinated products or green tea as it is a great body cleanser.

Carol Vorderman’s 28 Day Detox Diet

Amazon.co.uk Review
TV presenter Carol Vorderman looks great for any age, never mind a fortysomething with two youngsters. Vorderman attributes her new slim shape and bundles of new-found energy to a detox diet. Her 28 Day detox diet is not a diet video as such. It is a 28-day plan to revamp the way you eat, plan and think about food. Assisted by “detox guru” Ko Chohan (who created the plan), Carol explains her own trials with diets that didn’t work, illustrated by “before” photos from when she was two stone heavier and the “after” footage now. Carol makes it sound easy and is a charming host; her own physical beauty is compelling evidence for the plan’s success. An illustrated card–the free 28 Day detox diet Guide–provides a thumbnail guide to the diet’s principles. Basically, to flush out impurities and bloating, it suggests eating lots of fruit, veggies and such. No dairy, any meat– not even fish!–or sugar. No tea or coffee. Although the video lacks intense or scientific detail, Carol’s approach is fresh, easy-to-understand and a joy to watch. Following three very different detox guinea pigs–a single mum, a single career girl and a married woman–via their video diaries, we are shown the real difficulties behind following the detox plan. This is the video for anyone who wants to lose weight and gain more energy, and is willing to make drastic, if eventually delicious and healthy changes to his or her lifestyle for 28 days. –Karen Krizanovich

IT REALLY, REALLY WORKS!, 5 Aug 2005

Reviewer: “amunata” - See all my reviews

I bought this video in desperation in August 2001. I was ill, fat, in pain from osteoarthritis and 3.5 stone overweight. 28 days later I’d gone down a dress size and felt great. I started exercising for the first time in my life and eating according to the guidelines in the video, and 3 months later did the detox again. By Christmas I’d shed the 3.5 stone, dropping from a 14/16 to 8/10 (6 for trousers!) My lifestyle and eating habits have changed completely and I’m fitter and healthier than I’ve ever been! I couldn’t lift a teapot… now I lift weights at the gym.You have to really want to help yourself and change your perceptions of food, nutrition and dieting. This is not a another fad, but a total re-education of mind and body.

The Odo’s oil really sucks … yuech! Any good health food shop will advise on a substitute in capsule form. As far as supplements are concerned, if you take nothing else, take the milk thistle - it really helps clear the toxins out the system.

Watching the video several times helped me when I was tempted to give up. The regime is pretty boring by week 4.. but by that time you are feeling the great results.

Would benefit from some good recipes - now available with the book that came out later.

Definitely a ‘must have’ if you want to turn your life around.

I lost Lots Of Weight When I Followed The Lemonade Detox Diet

Most of us have battled with diets at one point or the other in our lives in order to lose a few pounds; however, here is a diet that does not only help you lose some pounds but will also cleanse your body in the process. The lemonade detox diet has been used by many with successful results but, you must be warned that it is not the easiest way to detox or diet.

Dieting and Detoxing at the Same Time

The lemonade detox diet is simple as it basically consists of lemons, water and natural maple syrup and cayenne pepper.

Lemon works as a natural cleanser for the colon and it is very high in vitamins and nutrients so, you don’t suffer any loss of these in the lemonade detox diet. Therefore, everyday for a week or two at the most all you need to do is make a gallon of lemonade detox diet drink and have the same throughout the day. You can have as such water as you like as well along with the lemonade detox diet as it will help cleanse your body and replenish any lost fluids in the process.

My Tips During My Ten Day detox diet

The lemonade detox diet may not be practical for everyone and if you think you cannot do it, try an alternative, which is having the same quantities of lemonade with a healthy meal as the citrus syrup from the lemons helps slow down the digestion of carbohydrates. This in turn will break the cycle of producing high levels of insulin that is at the base of your hunger and weight gain.

The lemonade detox diet should be used with healthy meals only if you want results to show and not with fast food greasy items or chocolate. In order to see the full results of this process, you can not choose to have lemonade in addition to your regular meals, it is supposed to replace meals, not complement them.I have also written a ten day diary relating to this detox program which you can read here which shows you what to expect and how I felt during the ten days. I did lose a lot of weight and and I do recommend it if you want to lose excess weight quickly and feel refreshed at the end of it but be warned, it is hard.

Tips and Advice When Doing Your Own Home Body Detox

March 17th, 2007    Subscribe To Our Feed

body detox at some clinics can cost up to thousands of dollars depending on the seriousness of the case. And that is why many people choose to do their own way of home body detox, which can work well, and is cheaper as well. Home body detox is actually similar to what the detox center can offer you; the only difference is the discipline you have to follow in the center compared to the freedom you enjoy in the comfort of your own home. As long as you are determined to succeed and have a small amount of willpower you can do it.

What should you do?

That is why experts say that you should take care of your own food levels, and once in a while, detox yourself. Home body detox is not so hard actually, because it basically does not involve any clinical or medical process. Home body detox is among the best ways of keeping ourselves clean and healthy, besides other methods such as special diets, vitamin supplements, natural therapies, and so on. This home body detox is not harmful at all, and has few if any side effects.

How is it done?

It is a very simple process. The main organs involved in this home body detox would be your bowel or colon, liver, kidneys, as well as your blood and lymph systems. The process takes some time; usually between three to six months.

For colon, the process would include taking more fresh raw fruits and vegetables, all varying in colors and types. Cutting down on meat and other unhealthy food will help a lot. Or sometimes, you can also take coffee enemas. For the liver, more green foods and drinks would be appropriate, with an additional of homeopathic detoxosode drops. Kidney home body detox will include Cranberry unsweetened concentrate to the existing food types. As for the blood and lymph system, addition of 12 drops of Poke Root Tincture a day would be helpful.

According to research, your body needs detox at least once in six months if there are too many toxins in your body, or your body pH is too high, or it could lead to all kinds of problems and illnesses. In particular, when the pH is too high, your body becomes prone to diseases. Disease may occur because of your bad eating habits, too much sugar, salt, drugs, and caffeine, lack of working out, contamination of resources, and build up of toxins in the intestines. Water will always be one of the best substances to put into your body while embarking on any detox program and even when you are not.
